META creates AI model for video with sound

On Friday, META announced the creation of Movie Gen. This AI model can create realistic video and audio clips. Meta claims this tool can rival other startups like OpenAI and ElevenLabs. 

This model's breakthrough feature is that it can generate background music and sound effects for video clips. Audio can also be changed for existing videos.

Movie Gen videos can, at the moment, be up to 16 seconds long, as for audio, up to 45 seconds. 

META's announcement comes forth as Hollywood is finding trouble with how to harness AI video models. META claims it has been working directly with content creators and the entertainment community. 

According to META, the company will unlikely release their new video model for open use, in contrast to their large language models. META spokespeople said this is because they are considering risks for each model individually.
